Amy Kriewaldt, Chief Operating Officer
Amy Kriewaldt is the Chief Operating Officer of PDA USA, where she manages day-to-day operations and keeps the organization running smoothly. She is also the cohost and second lived-experience voice of PDA USA: The Podcast, bringing both personal perspective and practical insight to conversations about Pathological Demand Avoidance.
A lifelong writer, Amy has been blogging for 27 years, freelances as a researcher and article writer, and is currently focused on memoir and creative nonfiction. Much of her writing centers on dismantling oppressive systems in education, healthcare, and disability services, amplifying lived experience as a catalyst for change. She is also the founder of Kriewaldt Academy, an alternative education initiative designed to support twice-exceptional (2E) and PDA students through flexible, neurodiversity-affirming approaches.
Her nonprofit experience includes volunteering with the Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint (AASR) and serving as a board member and social media coordinator for the Northwest Augmentative Communication Society (NWACS). Known as a “nonprofit nerd,” Amy thrives on building structures and sustainable practices that allow organizations to flourish.
Outside of her advocacy and operations work, Amy is a former concert pianist and now a hobby plant influencer. She shares her love of houseplants, nature, and photography online—and warns people not to bring up plants or rocks unless they’re ready for an enthusiastic infodump.
