Brook Madera, Chief Executive Officer
Brook is Chief Executive Officer of PDA USA where she connects with the creative team to help build the programs and offerings that make the organization great. She works alongside Amy Kriewaldt (Chief Operating Officer) co-host the PDA USA podcast.
Brook has always been driven to learn and connect others to the resources they need. She learned about Pathological Demand Avoidance in 2021 and did a deep dive into the online PDA community that was mostly based in the UK at that time. She created the facebook group PDA USA in response to growing awareness of PDA but limited resources and professional support for the misunderstood neurodivergent profile.
Brook is a parent to three PDA boys, a writer, content creator, artist, and academic. She has a BA in Religious Studies and a MA in Human Services Counseling from Regent University.
Some of her relevant achievements in the PDA world include: Co-authoring the book The Insider Guide to PDA with SallyCat, growing the PDA USA online communities to over 20k members, creating content and resources as No Pressure PDA, serving as a volunteer and media consultant for PDA North America, speaking at the PDA Summit (2023, 2024) and PDA North America's annual Conference (2024 & 2025), doing professional training for Linda Murphy (author of The Declarative Language Handbook and The Coregulation Handbook), and various other podcasts and speaking engagements both local and abroad!
